Is sq dissapearing as a sport

I was in another forum and they seem to think the sq comp. Is dead . I hope not I was thinking of building up a car for next year . What do you guys think ?

there are lots of SQ comps around town all over the world but SPL is way bigger in the scene cause who doesnt like bass right

SPL is easier to get into and easier to understand. It only makes sense for it to me a little more popular. But SQ is still around and still doing well. When people say it's dead they are just comparing it to when SQ was new. There are a lot fewer people in it now days buy I would say that if your into it, your really into it.

why is the term sport used? sports usualy involve athletic people, not the overweight ones I see in lots of the pics of sound events but they are good for sitting on cars to hold them together, I'd call it a competition.
