am i going to need a second battery to run this system?

stephenfleming Jan 19, 2010 11:59 AM

It really wouldnt hurt.
I have the 1500D in my Protege5, and my lights dim pretty well.
But I do need to do the big 3 and replace the stock battery.

can i just get a real beefy battery in the front?

Maybe, depends on how much room you have.
Getting a yellow top or kinetik or the like wouldn't be a bad investment.

well i got the b15 sentra and the stock airbox is gone so it freed up extra space maybe i can fit something big in there

so the sub is about 1700 watts rms.. a 2000d would be better with the gains down compared to a 1500d?

I'm going to be running my 15" Xcon off of 800 watts RMS

You'll never notice the difference between a 1500d and 2000d IMO, 500 watts at that power level, if your power delivery is good enough to supply it, is a small difference.
