I dont know if I like it.. sure it looks cool.. but I would take an old stroker over one of these. The old Stroker didnt need alot of excursion to get loud... it was efficient yet it handled power pretty well... To me it this new thing sorta looks like they took the old Stroker look, put a huge surround on it and then made it look beefy..
This is just my opinion though.

the bubble is there to give the sound producing portion some ridgidity...without it it would basically be a spider as the cone area and spiders tend to be flexable so it may not be the best thing to have producing the sound...hence the bubble...and of course it has to be a bubble or else when the woofer moves back it would hit against that metal thingy inside the spider
