Which sub?

I am stuck between getting a single sub such as a rockford fosgate t2 or jl w7 or a mtx 9500 or getting 2 lower model subs such as 2 mtx 8500 subs. what would you do if you were me? i would also like to stay with those companies because they are easiest for me to get. the sound im lookin for is pretty bassy i listen to everything but mostly rap so i want it to hit pretty hard so what should i do?

(all are 12" subs)

well, ive had 2 MTX 8500 12s and now have a single 9500 12, and lemme tell ya, its more impressive for that amount of bass to come from a single 12. I would go with 1 really good quality sub over 2 cheaper ones anyday, from any company.

screw all of em and get a tf1 from father yuli. $430 for a 12" and it will destroy all of those not to mention if you do manage to blow it, which i highly highly doubt unless you happen to be running about 10k rms daily you can just re cone it, where as you blow one of those subs you mentioned and you have to by a new sub all over again. Just be sure you have good power to run these

heres the thread about the TF one subs take a look at them and he is in toronto

well you just have to look at it this way. most cars run 2 12"subs in a pre-fab box with around 1000w of power and for the most part they hit around 138-140db my 1 10" in a custom box and 1000w of power does 143db 3 db is a HUGE difference! mine hurts more sound louder shakes more and just generally gets under your skin better! what makes a sub good is the motor you need a strong motor to get alot of vibration and by buying a really good sub your getting a really good motor weak subs are weak subs no matter what you do to them if you are spending 500 on a sub and you get 2 $250 subs that look all pretty and have big claims of 1500w peak yadda yadda yadda you'll sound pretty good, now say you go buy that TF One you put it in a good box (which im sure yuli would be more then happy to help you with) and hook it up to the same amp and make all your 2 sub friends jelous, but in the end its your money its your choice, all we are trying to do is ensure you get the most for your money

Easiest for you to get is practically anything you want, shipping from the states shouldn't be more than $80, or buy used, theres lots of high quality stuff around for cheap. I'd pick none of those subs though. I havn't heard them, but even if I did, I still wouldn't. What's your budget? What vehicle is it going in and how much space are you willing to take up? Do you have an amp? Depending on the sub, you should get a sturdy box. You'll have to describe your audio preferences more than "it needs to hit hard and be pretty bassy", that'd be a good start. What speakers/subs have you listened to?

we all know its a tough choice and we all have our favorites thats for sure, In the end it is your choice. i personally would go for something high end because it will last and it will perform, or you can continually buy lower end stuff and have to keep replacing it.

i have the money but i dont want to go over $2000 for the whole system. It will be going in a 2001 sunfire. I dont really care how much space it takes up. i dont have anything right now this will be my first system. soundwise i dont kno how to describe it really other than really good lows on the bass as i dont listen to all the much rock or anything.

I switched from 1 sealed 10" sony xplod on 220W, to 1 sealed kicker cvr15 on 550W, to 2 sealed 12" pioneers on 550W, to 2 sealed eclipse 12's on 750W (half the RMS), to 1 ported 05 RE XXX 12 on 1500W, in an 00 sunfire GT, which doesn't have much space, 2 10's/1 12 if all you'll fit.. I should have just gotten the XXX ($350!), or even now, I'm probably going to get a TF one.
