Sub/amp combination

Hey guys I found a good deal on a Rockford P1000-1BD but i dont know if i should get it or not. According to the specs it only puts out 500rms at 2ohm's. I just wanted to know if this amp would run my 12" JL W7 (in a H.O. box) properly. I know it will run it but i want to get the most out of the sub but it is 750rms. Is there a way to wire the sub to get max power from the amp? Sorry if this is a noob question

and btw its a 3ohm sub

any helpwould be appreciated

thanks

Not a good match for a 3 ohm sub, be wasting over 500 unused watts

The new Kenwood XR-1S is looking to be a good little amp for this application, 600w rms into 4 ohm and 700w rms into 2 ohm. It is going to get you darned close, so close that your ears will not be able to tell the difference.

Going from 1500w-750w on a 12" was barely audible for me, maybe my amp was garbage. Can it not handle a JL 1000/1 (1000W @ 12-14.4v @ 1.5-4ohms)?

ok so im going to sort of steal my own thread here lol, Ive come across a good deal on a US Amps 2000x amp. Now i know its overkill but if i keep my gains low will i destroy my w7? Does anybody have any advice/knowledge/tips about this amp such as upsides or downsides?

Even a 500/1 will keep it in its efficiency level.

depends how u use it.. im running 420watts rms on 3 subs 1500watts rms that they needs and it work fine.. just dont clip ur amp. like keep the gain down, no bass boost. usually if u have a good ear u can hear the clipping happening. i do anyway... sounds like crap and flutters
