Arrow sub and amp problems

Recently installed a set of pioneer 10 inch 4 ohms subs in my car wired up to 2 ohms mono and hooked to a rockford fosgate 500a2 amp but when u turn up the volume the protection comes on in the amp for about 3 seconds than music comes back til u turn it up again ...... this amp is made to run 2 ohms mono but just to prove it wasn't the amp I also hooked the 2 pioneer subs up to a kicker 600.1 amp which is also 2 ohms stable and same thing , when you turn it up the protection comes on i nthe amp til you turn it back down.
I tried it in 2 seperate cars both with 4 guage wiring , plenty for a 500-600 watt amp. I don't have any other subs to chuck on to test so that way would cost me money . I am looking for your ideas on what is causing these amps to go into protection running these subs. Both amps fine at 4 ohms mono as loud as u wanna go and the rockford at 2 ohms stereo . . . but 2 different amps having the same problem is kinda odd ? If you can offer any help please do
thx

Its 2 ohm stable per channel, not bridged.

Lightbulb

rockford punch 500 a 2 Specifications:

125 watts x 2 @ 4 ohms continuous power

250 watts x 2 @ 2 ohms continuous power

bridged - 500 watts @ 4 ohms

(Underrated!!!)
ok that solves that amp but now how about why my kicker kx 600.1 won't run them without going into protection mode at 2 ohms ?

wire check

I have the positive and positive from each sub wired together into + on amp and same for neg. and the box is right as well when i test with an AA battery to find + and - I get them right , when + of sub is on + of battery and i touch it both subs go out so its not that , and like i said i have the rest done right I been into stereo stuff for years.
4 guage power wire , 4 guage ground wire and its all nicely sanded and bolted down to the car body , 22 guage remote on wire from the back of my clarion deck and bassworx 40.00 rcas run from the front to back of my car.
