I have an old sony HT amp. it says it will run 8-16 ohm. but I have had it down to 2 ohm befor. It does get hot, and will cut in and out if ya crank it when its at 2 ohms, but other wise its a great lil amp.

also, I bought a cheap little cross over from princess, it was 14.99 and ran off of 12 volt. so I put it inbetween my CD/computer and the little sony amp, ran it off a ATX power supply. worked great. but like I said, the amp DID get hot. I use this as my winter system in my room. its not the greatest system in the world, but it works and it was damn cheap.

Holy man, you still haven't installed that?!?! Get yourself a decent plate amp.

Let me know what amp you get and I'll recommend you an enclosure......

I ran an infinity kappa 12" in my house for a few months. I had a 400 watt plate amp. I think i got it from creative sound solutions for under 300 dollars.

I remember you posting about it. It was the same one I picked up from CSS.

Power Output @ 8ohms/4ohms - 250W/360W

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I still have mine running an IDmax 12 & I paid a little over $200 shipped, and it shipped FAST. I think it was here in just two days after ordering or something crazy like that. It's been a solid lil' amp so far. This is not in my home theater though, I have something better pulling that duty.

iLL you could get this amp & throw that LMT proto of yours in to a LARGE sealed enclosure and be golden(use that 46+mm Xmax). I can't remember if I gave you the specs for that beast or not, if not lemme know. That is what I would recommend for that sub on a budget. You could always go with a MUCH larger amp. Hope that helped.

Yeah that would be the one. It was pretty loud in the huge box that was built for it. I spend hours just playing a 0-25hz sweep and listening to all of the doors down the hallway rattle, but not hearing anything audible from the sub.
