subs
ok, i need soem sugestions on some subs. i am getting my 1984 firebird running in the next few days(workin on it) and ill be putting in my sterio into it, the problem im having is since i was going with 8 12's in my suburban i have 4 mtx 5500's here that i cant use in my application. i am looking for 2-10's or mabey 1-10 or 1-12. the amp i have is an Orion 2500D. i need some sugestions on subs. the 2 shops around here sugested mtx 9500 10's(said it wont be possible for me to wreak them) and another shop sugested jl w7's then switched to w3's(not kidding) they said i should get the w3's and there would be no chance in wreaking them. i will be running 4 deep cycles dedicated straight to the sterio with a 200amp alternator. so im sure current wont be an issue, i have just never ran this amp to its fullest and i want to..anyways, thanx in advance and sorry bout the long post

Re Xxx
Contact Dale @ Custom Car Audio in B.C. @ 1-250-426-5734. He's the Western Canada distributor for Resonant Engineering. And if you live in Eastern Canada ask him for the distributor there, I can't remember their name.

Matt tell me how much net airspace you have to work with, what your budget is, and what you hope to achive out of this install (great SQ, pure SPL, good sounding street beater, and what music material you tend to listen to.
Of the other recommendations a pair of W3v2's would not be a good idea as they would be seriously overpowered and your nearest RE dealer is 20Hz in Woodbridge. RE is not making XXX's at the moment while we await the release of the new XXX replacement. Your dealer may have some of the "older" XXX's in stock.

hey man, well, since i dont have time to build a box, and no one answered my last post about having one built, i think i might have to buy a prefab one to fit...unfortunatly they are small and sealed....this dosnt bother me to much because i know i have enouph power to make sealed subs loud...i think they only have .65 cubic feet per sub. and all im looking to do is have it loud but still sound good....not spl...i mainly just listen to rap/hip-hop and country(lol...i know total oposites) my budget is probably around 800 bux, but i might be able to do more, less would obviously be better...thnx for the help

Well two 12's sealed is super easy but I feel you likely will want to go ported if you're use to it loud. You're going to want a custom enclosure either way and you can get enough net air to go with most single 15 setups which is what I would suggest. Two 12's ported can be done if you want to really build up the height on the enclosure.
I would look into a single 15 ported and some options could be:
RE XXX (there's got to be one sitting around or get one used)
Adire Brahma
Orion H2
DD 9515
Treo SSX
Eclipse Ti
Crystal CMPx2
JBL GTI
