subwoofer dilemna

Hi,

I recently got a 10" sub pushing 1000rms @ 2ohms, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to add another 10" or just sell it and get a single 12"? I have it installed in a honda CRV. BTW, both 10" and 12" subs share the same specs. Thanks in advance.

1000 rms sub, 1000 rms amp @ 2ohms. Amp is stable @ 1ohm running 1400rms

just get a couple of 12" Type R's in a 2cu box each.

more cone area = more volume. the type r's hit hard, and you aren't gonna find much out there better value wise.

your power is fine for them as well.

oh, forgot to mention. I prefer Re sxx since i have a single 10" now. Either 1 12" or 2 10". So I guess 2 10" would sound louder than 1 12" (same specs)

Grab another 10". Even with 700w, the cone area should increase your output. Don't expect to double your bass though! You could expect a 3dB increase; enough of a change that you can hear & tell the diff, but not worlds different. Doubling output takes 10X the power, and associated peripherals such as vehicle electricsl, etc.
