Subwoofer's diminish then come back.

My friend is interested in my exile 2400.1, so i lent it to him to try out. He hooked it up to 0 gauge power and ground. Hes running a 200 amp alt, and a rather large battery. Grounds are all good. Hes powering two MTX Thunder 5510's I believe. I checked the impedance of the subs, how its wired, etc, and its all good. Everything seems absolutely perfect.

Yet, he can be cruising down the road, and it will thump loud, but then the subs slowly diminish in volume, then come back. They'll be loud one moment, then be quiet one moment, and be loud again for awhile.

Its in a Ford Flareside, 95ish i believe.

What could the problem be? I have no clue.

They're wired for two ohms right now, which would be 1200 watts on this amplifier. Ill pass on this info though, thanks.
