24 years old
been at it since 15 when I put in my brothers first system and been hooked ever since.
Started competing in 1997 or 1998 I cant remember,
Started working in the industry in 1999, and have owned Perfect Tones with Lauf (perfecttones-paul I believe he calls himself now) since 2002 and have been competing with him since 2001.

The one common thing that all of us 12 volt guys have in common is our sheer love for being broke as hell!!!!!! but when you get in your car and turn up the tunes all of the hours spent and the un godly amounts of money spent are suddenly all worth it. I think Allan Riley said it best "There is a fine line between a hobby and a sickness"

 

38 and bought my first system at 16.

i think i've got enough ages to make a fair estimate...
if anyone cares the average age that i found worked out to 26 years old! so to all you youngsters out there respect your elders, and to all you elders KUDOS for keeping to passion alive so long.

*on a side note, the first time i tallied up all the ages (~60) people) the total of all the ages came out to 1728! isn't that a little bit of a freaky number to get - coinicidence, i think not!
