is the epx upgradeable at all, or just what you see is what you get?

If you consider the 14-28 cards expandable?

I find them to be features of the product that dont come in the box.

So ya it is upgradeable from what it originally come with out of the box

An EPX is not upgradable. It came with a 14band EQ. The EPX2 came without any EQ card and has the option of a 14band or a 28band expansion card being added internally.

what about a SYM-XOM 16 channel x-over module? strictly for the epx 2 right?

the SYM-XOM is for the original Symmetry. It fits neither EPX or EPX2. Both the EPX and EPX2 have a 10channel crossover integral to them. It is not upgradeable.
