System Finished Final Pics!
First off i posted this here becuase it covers alot of stuff. I.E Big 3 Proper Install Etc.
So i started off with an alarm i had a python 902 installed in my 99 grand am gt. Then i went ahead and started buying my system components. Started out with a sub.
To be exact a 13.5 w7 dual voice coil.
Heres the sub compaired to my w3. And no i didnt just take daddys credit card and buy it i worked my *** off for everything.
Second off i bought my kenwood kvt 512 and installed it in my car with no sub.
Third i built my box to spec for the w7. It just barely fit in my trunk but i squeezed it in. Then i went ahead and did my "big 3" only had enough money to start with that! Its all done in 0 awg. I ran the ground first from the alt to the shock tower, i sanded it down and painted it after i bolted it. You can see where i connected it. After that i tried re grounding the battary, didnt turn out too well, since i over tightend the battary post and broke it off in the socket so i had to go get a new battary. To make a long story short grounded the battary to the fender and went ahead and connected the power to the alternater from the battary (no fuse) (possibly a bad thing?)
Then i ended up picking up all the fuses rca's, connecters, remote wire and 0 awg power wires run to a two farad tusami cap. after i had the 0 gage power ran i ran the rcas down the passenger side under the seat into the trunk. I also ran the remote wire at this time.
This is when we started running into some problems.
First off the screen shut down and reset it self, next the battary died, after that we had the sub wired up wrong. So i went ahead and brought it to BASE electronics in welland and had the installer there look at it.
I didnt wanna push my luck so he went ahead and picked it apart. (we found out the sub had been wired wrong and amp had been tuned wrong) witch sent the amp into protect mode. While at base i made an amp rack custom fit to my trunk and base carpeted it and the sub box. He also hooked up the four channel amp you see now. He did a very good job after alittle cleaning this is what him and i came up with.

Nice and clean bro. So now you have to come out to at least a couple of shows. You can't show us and not let us have a listen. LOL Do you plan on competing at all? Looks like the start of a nice SQ system. What's up front? Don't worry about the fuse to the alt. Nobody I know that has done it has it fused.

Do you plan to compete? Or is it just for the listening pleasure.

well i don't like caps b/c of how they are priced and for the price of like 1-2 caps you can get a secondary battery which will be much better then any group of caps! so i guesss for me it is a price factor, and some ppl like to call them a glorified volt meter lol!
but you got yours for free so it is all good!
but how does that sub sound. does it shake your rear view mirror out of alignment lol!!
