Tell my why Sirius Sat units are 50% higher cost?
I am going to buy a SIR-ECL1 for my Eclipse deck. There is now a board that I can attach it to my carputer, but want the flexibilty of either running it off the CD8455 or my computer.
Anyway, I started looking at cost
99 bucks U.S. if I drive to buffalo
or
200.00 - 250.00 Canadian through a few dealers I do business with.
Is it because the launch is a month away? or are we getting hosed again. I am willing to wait the month to support our brothers if this is the case.

Well the price WILL drop once Sat. Radio is launched in Canada. Right now that piece you are talking about here is actually a US piece. It will have a US ESN and you will need to activate it with a US addy if you bought it. If you wait until launch you will be able to get one with a Canadian ESN and be able to activate it with your Ontario addy.
I hope that makes sense.

Actually that piece is not a US piece at all. It is purchased in Canada from our authorized Eclipse distributor. In general, yes we Canadians are getting the shaft on pricing, this is because the distributor in Canada is a rightful business and as such marks the product up after they purchase it from Eclipse USA. Next it hits our stores and of course we must try and make something on it as well. Is price expected to fall, not any time soon. Thanks for the offer of supporting the Canadian dealers, you are one of the few people that will openly say this.
