Term Lab vs Computer

I made a second visit to our new local audio shop to ask if he could do the actually reconing of my sub and if he had a TL availible for time rental.
Was a no on the recone(but hes checking around) but he does have a IBM and a program for measuring SPL, I think he mentioned having a sound off or two this summer also!! COOL.

Anyhow, how do the computer program meters stack up against a TL for accuracy/tuning ability. Any difference?

I can do your recone if u wanna bring or ship your sub to me. Also mat is right on the money in terms of meters. The most accurate is termlab followed by the ac190 or 180 can't remember the number. All others should be avoided or u can just subtract 10 db to get a more realistic number

You are off from the real world matty
P.S. Did you change your rca yet and if so what number did you hit on the weekend?

There's some Russian one that is out now. Once calibrated it was pretty much dead on to the TL.

Thanks for the offer PAC .. It`ll probably come down to when I get the kit.
I think I`m gonna try it, if I get the parts before the show this weekend.
Just cause I figure thats the only way to make it to the show with full power.
If the kit doesnt come in, I`ll let you know next week. if I`m doing it or having it done.

I see what you mean Mat. I was just thinking today how fd up it`d be to think Im hitting a 150 and pulling a 138 at the show...ouch...painful

I see it didnt deter you though
