Are you asking because you are confused at the price difference. I would guess the difference is internal, but I am not sure how they increased power handling.

The change could be as simple as a stiffer spider assembly.

good chunk in the price is actually in the shipping from the US build house and all of the applicable taxes when it crosses the border. That's just a fact of living in Canada.

I agree with you, have brought in over a dozen subs in last 3 months, shipping can be over 50$, then you have to pay brokerage and taxes. Hopefully your build house is in the US so you don't have to pay duties.

There is a difference... I've been told what it is.. but I'll let the Team FOB guys decide if they want to let the cat out of the bag.

It's nothing huge, but enough (imo) to say it's not the same sub.

the subs are similar, just like the American Bass and Zapco subs, althought i cant speak on their build quality, but it's probably up to par.

the diff you are asking about is stiffer spider combination and taller coil winding as well as stronger glue joints.

here are pics of some more tests we did with 2 TF1 10's and a DD z1

lol im just kiddin

here are the real results

there were also some 153.7 and 153.8 burps, then came the 153.9 and 154. it seems that the gain came from subs being broken in. there were no other changes between the 2 days of testing.

power test of the Z1 showed 2500 watts rms, at 1.7 ohm after the rise. initial load is 0.5 ohm.

Thank you.

I dont want people to take these test results as me sayin the subs are something magical. Just showing that the subs are capable of the number they are doing. I'm sure there are other speakers that are just as, or even more, capable. They probly cost more tho. These subs definately have potential, especially at the given price point of $400 for a TF1 10 inch sub.

The main difference between TF1 and other subs that look same or similar is the custom built suspension package to match my specifications to be suited for spl applications.
