thermal power handling?

thermal power handling?

what is it? is it the rms rating of a sub, or something else? i notice it in the tech specs of some subs... was just wondering...

When you see a wattage rating on a sub it means how much heat the voice coil can handle, RMS is the continious heat handeling and the Peak/Max is what it can handle for short periods if i am not mistaken.
