Thinking about competing in 2 seasons, looking for pointers.
I've been into car audio for a while, and a lot of people talk about how loud my it, but deep down I laugh cause around here 147-148 isn't loud :P... So I've been considering competing in a couple of seasons, taking next year to accumulate gear, learn, test, etc. Next year I plan to go to some shows, see some setups, talk to some of the founding fathers and get a feel for whats all going on. I have decided to try my hand at Street B, since it doesn't really seem as loud as the other classes (maybe I'm wrong)... I'm wondering if anyone can give me some pointers on things like gear to look at, what kind of tuning you guys use, what you set gains and that at, etc. Looking to gain knowledge first before I start throwing money around.

If you are worried about an Orion 2500D or a PB xa-3000 killing it, dont worry. I know jake is running Sundown 3k's to his just fine. As for SPL, I think you might have better luck with DD, they tend to get louder...

hey matt I think you should research other brands before deciding on RE or DD there way more products out there that are equal quality or better for even cheaper, I agree on taking a year off and accumulate the gear and research all aspects, that is the best way IMO that way you arent rushing to compete and you will be able to build something crazy!! know you can do it just check out other companies first maybe go onto some american websites and forums and talk to some of the americans they are more then willing to help out anyone wanting to get crazy loud

With that much power I personally wouldn't even consider an MT. You would need closer to 5k at a minimum or you're just fighting against their inefficiency. (not that it's a bad thing, because the offset is that they can take a TON of power)
