Thoughts on my system so far
hey tehre im just slowly gathering thesystem i will be buying next april....i should be buying my deck and ipod interface tomorrow from MR2NR..he has been helping me out with the complicated world of car audio (Thanks :P ) anyways he has been recommending products to me i would just like more opinions :)
so far this is it Deck: Eclipse CD3000 and IPC106 ipod interface Sub:Digital Designs DD2512 (i was battling over 2 10" or 1 12" looks as though one 12 wins so far) Speakers: (2 or 4??) have yet to decide Amp: (one or 2two) have yet to decide Sub box: pre made or custom made and from whom Installation will probably be local, but i am still deciding if i should put the speakers in the doors or mount them somewhere else..... keep in mind i am looking for sound quality with some loudness for those days that i feel like balsting my music..i listen to heavy metal with some rock (hence alot of bass drum rolling , guitar solos..some bass guitar heavy stuff as well) opinions wanted :) |
Sounds like you're leaning towards a good system so far !..
Your going to want your system to be as clear as possible to hear that guitar nice and crisp, and the bass nice and tight !.. Sounds like your getting there. I'm going to have to give MR2NR a shout, I need some car techie advice too:) |
ok looks as though i will be getting the DD ported enclosure as well...any tips for amps and speakers..i plan on getting speakers for the front...and some cheaper ones for the rear..thanks
|
what is the nominal power rating for that sub? if its around 600 rms i might have an amp you might be interested in...
|
anybody ??:smilie_da
|
get a good set of component for the front and dont put anything in the back except your sub. With the money you ll save you will be able to buy a little 2 channel amp to power yours components :smilie_da
This is my vision of the thing, keep going  |
can you explain that in noob words:sly: lol sorry...component speakers?? 2 channel amp??....and well will it still be goodwithout the rear speaks???...thanks:thumbsup:
|
component speakers are speakers that also come with a pair of crossover and tweeters..(crossovers eliminate certain frequencies)
2-channel amp is an amplifier that will increase the strength of the audio signal that goes through it and makes it sound louder and better...the fact that it is 2 channel means its built to power TWO speakers... |
wouldnt elminating frequencies be bad??? or is it say elminating bass frequencies from the speakers??... anyways what would be some good brands/models of speakers and amps..also would i need a seperate amp for my speaks and another for my sub??...thanks for all the help :)
|
i eliminates freq. going to the tweeters
|
you need a completely seperate amp for your sub...a MONOchannel amp...
if you have 4 speakers you need a 4 channel amp...or you could just power the front two speakers with a 2-channel amp... Some high quality speakers are Focal, Mb Quart, Infinity Kappa... you should check out the member sale/trade section you could find some really awesome speakers for a lot less than retail. |
ok havnt been ehre in awhile but the time is nearing where i purchase.....so i need to know good speaks and amps.......i dont know if i should go just 2 speaks for now or 4??....thx for the info
in reference to those brands i need a suggestion on amodel from experience...thnaks ;) |

Drop me a line on MSN again and we can go through amps and subs at your convenience. By the time you get home for supper it is still early afternoon here. I am usually around until at least midnight most nights.
