My friend gave me a ****ty Lightning Audio 10" sub, it has "Torture Tested" printed on the dust cap... hehe well I decided to torture the sub myself

I used my US Amps 4000X playing a 20hz test tone directly into the sub free air.

Check out the video

The result is the spider was completely disconected from the cone all around, and the voice coil was all black and smoking inside.

Sounds like phun...

A word of caution for the kiddies... I wouldn't recommend doing something like that with an amp you can't afford to repair...

People who say " yeah we plugged them into the wall" are they litterally just taking +/- and sticking them in the wall? lol might sound stupid but can't say it's something I've exactly wanted to experiment lol

I had my old sub, a Kenwood Excelon DB+ 12in, 250RMS sub hooked up to an Orion 900x1 amp...

It was working fine, till a buddy showed up at the shop, and I had to show off...

So I loaded up an mp3 disk that has a song I downloaded called "Woofer Cooker"... I've played the song through it before, was just carefull.

But I forgot I had the EQ set for old rock & roll... and the amp gain turned up...

I didn't know a woofer could smoke so much... it was awesome...

My buddy just stood there, gaping. We had a great laugh...

Sad part, that was an wesome subwoofer, I liked it. hmmm I wonder if I could get it reconed....
