I must say.

I watched the episode last night with T-MAc's Lincoln.

Oh my god.

I cannot believe they just screwed the door pods into the panels without even matching covering or anything.

Having now seen the show...I am appaled.

Having said that, I DO like how they go into great detail showing the installs (or at least moreso than other shows which tend to gloss over...now maybe I think for good reason...the audio work)

BOO

Nice.

I would raise a stink if someone did that sort of work on my POS truck.

If they did that to my quarter-million Hummer or Lambo or whatever the rappers and bballers are driving nowadays, I cant imagine what I would do.

I mean, Camby's ride IS a lead-sled lincoln, which I detest in and of itself, but the idiot basically RUINED the stock doorpanels, then dismantled the x-overs and threw away the casings, and didnt even have the bright idea to MATCH the ****.

Also, since that car has suicide doors, I believe that the 'pods' were on the foremost side of each door...which means when the rear doors are opened, the pods are in prime location for getting kicked, splashed and overall mashed.

What a hack job.
I have never built a setup nor have I installed one, but I know from my consumer experiences that the reason I pay so much for my installs is because the places to which I go do GOOD WORK.

Ridiculous.

At first I though Castro was out of line balling out his installers, but then I saw their handiwork...and felt sorry for the guy.

I have seen a few cars he did on Rides or something (they did a profile on his shop on the Funkmaster show) and he did a really cool 'superman' install on a Navigator, beautiful two-tone superman interior and install and everything. Too gawdy for me but really imaginative and nicely finished, I thought.

I guess once he got BUSY his work went down the tubes...

It's much easier for people who are living in the area and/or have the time to stay involved in this type of scene.
If you're a pro athlete or business person constantly on the road or out of the loop all you may have time for is a quick check on the shop or an opinion from someone else.
Camby may just tell all his friends that they did awesome work on his car and completely recommend them just because he may not know any better regarding installs. Then the friends take their cars there and the same thing repeats.

I am sorry I missed this thread

I am glad I am not the only one who thinks these guys are hacks (funny how we all came to use the same word 'hack').
I would NEVER allow those fools near a vehicle of mine. The price to performance is terrible. It is kind of embarasing

I will say that the install in Paul Spicer's Tahoe was to my liking.

A few too many screens, but overall the best thing I have seen them produce.
