What kind of amp are you going to be using to power your speakers?
If you're going to get a component set of speakers, then I would say just power those and leave the 6x9's as they are.

I can't help you with the db driver(s), but what kind of setup are you looking at? What type of listening do you prefer? Amps? I "made room" for a 6.5" comp set in the stock 5.25" locations (cut, trim rings built up, all deadened and that good stuff). Really, you can make any decent comp/speaker set sound good with a proper install. I'm running CDT right now, but really, listening preferences/tastes are so personal it's hard to say. I'd suggest skipping the 6x9's and buying an amp and a set of comps. (And then another amp for the sub you'll definitely want eventually...!!). Good luck, shop around, take your time and enjoy..

Well i have a system in my car right now. im running entry lvl stuff, but i got a little more money to play around with now.

im running a 12" AudioBahn in a bandpass box. Ya i know they arent that good but i actually really like the bass they give me and im running them with an audiobahn 400W amp for what i like my bass is good unless i hear something better.

My main focus is replacing my alpine type s with something elss.
im running 5'7s in the back and 5 1/4 in the front with pioneer tweets ya they suck im running thouse with a 250 watt alpine amp which seams to power them just fine. Now i like how loud they get but i want something thats clearer. so thats what i need help with. Suggestions?

I'd replace the fronts first and see how it sounds, imo th pioneer tweets is prolly whats making is sound bad...
How much you wanna spend?

I have boston accoustic pro series up front with rally series 6x9s in the back and ive never been happier with sound quality at high volume.
There are lots of brands out there to listen to, i'd go lookin and listening if i were you cause youre ears are the ones that matter.

I have Eclipse 3way 5-1/4 and Pioneer 4 way 6x9's.
I'm really happy with both. You can't put low end into them, but thats what subs are for
