well I was wondering how a JL Audio Comp set VR525CSi up front sound with a Focal 165A 6 1/2" component set rear both powered by a Memphis 3004 amp...

kind of like saying whats wrong with running 15 inch b.f goodrich on the front of my car and 16 inch firestones on the back. your car will still run and perform probably quite well, but i wouldnt do it. try to stick with the same make and size, this will help to keep the phasing a little more equal and help in timber matching.

well I can only squeeze at most 5.25" under the dash and I think that is a little small for rear fill... and this is just for daily driving so I am not worried about it being 100% perfect... I am just wondering if the SQ will be close to the same for both sets...

If you are going to run rear-fill, don't bother with nice speakers like the focals [img]smile.gif[/img] They should really be up front. If you are looking for SQ, concentrate more on your front-stage, as it'll have a larger impact. A decent pair of coaxial speakers should do the trick in the rear.

Are the front speakers physically mounted on the dash? What type of car is this?
