the shops around here can buy one of them subs for 150. so they sell it for more then that. i'm running 2 of them of 2 jbl 600.1's and its nice. but i dont know anything about that amp.

a VERY rough general price for pretty well any 'name' 10" subs that handle what those are rated for (about 500w rms) is around 200-300 apiece. (for reference, the Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2 10's are about 250 at future shop on 'clearout sale' I think, so thats a rough guideline as they handle that power neighbourhood too)

For an amp, paying a dollar per watt is a good general guideline, it could go a bit over or under that but thats usually a good yardstick... so that amp does 150 x 2, so its probably in the neighbourhood of $300 (for example a JBL bp300.1 is about 250 at best buy, and I think thats a good safe guideline)

a box is around 50-100, premade, depending on what premade company it is,and where you buy it from...

Obviously, I have no real source, but from the specs on the Kaption site, thats what I would VERY ROUGHLY estimate...

DaZZ, 150 is cost.
I was quoted around 700$ for the setup I began the post with.

i know kaption spl 12's used to sell for $250 with tax 4 years ago when i had 3 of them. and that 150 watt amp shouldnt cost more than $250. if u are paying more than that u are getting ripped off my friend. if i was u i would use a good 1000 watt amp to run those captions, they well can take it. i had mine going of TWO slaved DEI 1100D's for daily driving.

250 each or for the pair?

What amp would you suggest? Does Kaption make one, cuz I can get a good deal on Kaption stuff.

Any opinions on Kaption SPLs?

i like them. i had 2 of the old spl 104s'd in a sealed box. sounded nice. then i put one in a ported box with a jbl 600.1 and i hit 136.3 in a trunked car without folding rear seats. and this summer i'm geting a nother jbl and i'm running one sub off each amp.

when i first got them i paid 300 a peice for the subs. after fighting with the shop i got them from since i blew one of them, he said hed fix it for half of his cost on them which is 150. i think they blew b/c of the box i had them in. but i'm not sure. but i liked the subs and they good inverted too.

250 each. i liked the subs, for the price they were not bad, but eventualy they just fell apart. give them their rated power and they will shine. i think kaption makes a big 1000 watt amp, im not sure, i'vent ran kaption for many years now, nevertheless it was a good start up point.
