Viper makes some good quality products - and is MY number 1 choice for car security.

I got the 1000 installed (only because I don't care too much for the 2-way transmitter) on my Runner and added the extras.
- Back-up Battery
- Back-up siren
- Proximity sensor.

Best investment by far!

I don't understand why you'd want opinions if you don't want alternatives?

Sounds like you've made up your mind, so what's the point of giving you opinions? Do you want us to confirm your excellent purchase? Just curious as to the thought process.

Maybe I should of made it more clear,

I am getting a new viper 5000 installed for free

I wanted to know your opinions because I wanted to know where this alarm stands or if anyone has had any trouble with it (ie failing remotes) just for the heads up.

I installed one in a 99 Acura Integra,

Awesome unit, very detail oriented, they are top notch for there price point, your vehicle will be very secure if installed properly, make sure they hook up the starter disable and add a hood and trunk pin switch and you`ll be good to go.

They have a built in glass break sensor and such also.

The 5000 is a great unit......get your installer to load it up with a 507M tilt sensor and a 508D prox sensor and your car will be very well protected.
