Wall Ticket? (gooftarded cops)
 

So, anyone else get a ticket for having a wall?


LOL...on my way home from work this morning, i get pulled over, and the dude starts blabbin on about how he can tow my car and how theres at least 8 tickets i can get blah blah blah, im like, sure bud, do what you gotta do...

he ends up giving me a ticket for Window Obstruction, $110, and tells me, dont let any other cop see you driving it, or it will be towed and impounded.

He said hes doing me a favour by not towing and impounding it...what a fukin goof.

So now, on my birthday im sitting here in ajax, where i dont live, with a car i cant drive and $110 ticket i refuse to pay due to the fact as far as me or the HTA is concerned i didnt do anything wrong.

All the HTA says is:

""73. (1) No person shall drive a motor vehicle upon a highway,

(a) with any sign, poster or other non-transparent material or object placed on the windshield or on any window of such motor vehicle""

So, technically because the wooden wall isnt ON the window, im legal as far as im concerned. The cop was ignorant beyond belief, was talking to his buddys lauphing about me, the incident and my car(and i could hear him and them)....all in all, awsome start to an awsomely fuktacular day, nevermind that i have to work again tonight....geuss im stuck with the 07 impalla, tow the car tommorow.

Wow that is Retarded!!! The first thing that comes to mind, why doesn't he pull over EVERY single cube van then? cause you can't see out the back directly out of one of them, and you don't need a special license for them? Maybe its just the drunk talk right now, but it makes sense in my head!

see i got around this problem buy putting on bubbl mirrors I have never had a problem and cops are ALWAYS on my ass.

and a you can get the gm version of the pt cruser (cant member the name) with no back windows just windsheild and driver and pass door windows and that is a car (my moms brother has one)

he prob did not get laid by the hooker that he just took in to the station so he was pissesd

The pt cruiser is a remake of the milk trucks from back in the day, and that is classified as a "car" (most are, my neighbors is a "car" not a truck/suv)...Glad your fighting it Mat!!

im working as a security guard right now at a 24hour shoppers drug mart...needless to say theres a lot of cops in there during the night(they get 30%off...lmao)

i had a cop in the 2 weeks ago at night askin about my car and all that, i told him everything he asked, and he said "you must get pulled over a lot" and i said never have, and i said why, is somethign illigal or wrong with whats there, he says "Not at all, but cops seeing Team will probably just pull you over to tell you why that sticker is wrong and shouldnt be there and inspect the car, but theres nothing wrong with it"

anywyas, if filling a complaint is a good idea i will be doing that, i was gonna wait till i won the case, but if you think now is a good idea, i will.

Windows to afford clear view

74. (1) No person shall drive a motor vehicle upon a highway,

(a) unless the windshield and the windows on either side of the compartment containing the steering wheel are in such a condition as to afford the driver a clear view to the front and side of the motor vehicle; and

(b) unless the rear window is in such a condition as to afford the driver a clear view to the rear of the motor vehicle. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 74 (1).

Application of cl. (1) (b)

(2) Clause (1) (b) does not apply to a motor vehicle that is equipped with a mirror or mirrors securely attached to the motor vehicle and placed in such a position and maintained in such a condition as to afford the driver, otherwise than through the rear window, a clearly-reflected view of the roadway in the rear or of any vehicle approaching from the rear. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 74 (2).

filing a complaint might work in in a good and a bad way, good is they might cancel the ticket, bad is it might cause cops to harass you

Ya, i know, theres lots on the road without em, for instance HHR panel edition, more than enuf vans are built without rear windows, cube vans...the list goes on

I had a friend have this exact same problem, he laughed at the cop after being very polite and recieving his ticket. Next day took the ticket to his lawyer, and their firm had a field day with it. Cop is now a ex-cop and friend is about $5k ritcher after lawyer fees.

Sadly after the court case his car was severly vandalized and he got alot of money from insurance and made a better setup in a new ride. This was about 10 years ago but I still laugh at it.

haha, don it took me everything i had to hold myself back from snapping a bunch of really sarcastic comments and lauphing my ass of, i was almost in tears lauphing wen i heard him explaining to the other idiots what had happened...i just sat back(as much as possible, lol) and turned on the stereo to stop from lauphing...lol....

i think thats why he gave me the 1 ticket instead of nothing, i bet he saw me lauphin away...lol

cops hand out bogus tickets all day long... good luck filing a complaint, no one is going to care...

Just take it to court and be done with it...

you should call the police station and ask them about those laws in which are pertaining to your situation... (dont tell them who you are) then if they say there is nothing then ask them where to file the complaint then tell them why
