Want to tune my box from 32hz to 38hz. What will be the difference in bass output?"

Hey guys,

This exile sub recommends a ported box tuned to 38-39hz for spl. Right now my box is tuned for 32hz. I am thinking of re-tuning to 38hz. What changes can i expect in output? Is it worth it?

Thanks...

your going to lose a bit of low end output (enough to have a noticible difference) but at the same time you will most likely be louder (on the TL)

How about if i keep the same tuning (32hz), but instead of my slotted port, i go with a round precision port. They claim up to a 3 db increase from this change. I notice at high bass output this slotted port can get a little noisy, where as the precision port is a lot quieter? So they advertise?
Thanks

Properly built enclosures with properly planned designs, whether its slot port or aero port, should have little to no port noise.
