technically had another guy make the box. Ended up being a gentlemen from the board after i figured out i'm clueless. He's a woodworker, so i trust it was built well heh. Sub fires up, port fires back towards the rear.
Only part that might not be sealed that well (possibly, but i think it's fine) is around the sub itself, cutout was a lil on the big side. Might cut the carpet away and make a ring to put on top of it. But i think i got it prettywelll perfectly centered....that all the screws made it into the wood, plus the sub is so damn heavy, even if it wasn't screwed down, it'd likely be fine. |
does your amp have a phase switch? could be a cancellation issue
|
I could try the phase switch fro the heck of it.
Don't get me wrong the sub go's pretty loud, it's comparable to two alpines....which is pretty well what i expected, i hoped it'd be louder, but heard it may or may not. Turns out it's not heh. So i just need another. |
the xxx was never ment to be a spl sub.but try the phase thing and see if it makes a difference
|
Hmmmm for the record, switching the phase did seem to make a bit of a difference. It's not really louder, but seems to play a wider range of notes now which is rather hot.
That being said, this could just all be mental, but - none the less a step in the right direction, enough to keep me fairly happy for now!!! |
