welding a woofer basket?

BRAZE IT BRAZE IT BRAZE IT BRAZE IT BRAZE IT !
Other then that, dukks suggestion is a pretty good one..... I would drill a couple holes on either side of the crack and make an epoxy casting around it..
(the holes should increase the sheer strength of the joint considerably)

ok sorry.. i guess i wasn't 100% clear.
it's cracked, but ALL the way through. like when u play the wofoer it play fine, but it's when u give it like 2000 watts it starts to bottom out cause the 1 spoke on the basket i guess pulls away from the rest!!! so really i only have 3 spoke basket holding up the woofer?

i think that the heat would warp it and lose it true roundness. would it not be easier to reinforce it with a piece of steel and some nuts and bolts. i do not know a thing about welding aluminum, but i cant imagine itll want to stay as round as it is at the moment.(especially if you said that it plays.
some questions. what would make this crack happen(from playing or was it sort of dropped)? is it out of round already. we had a similar situation with a basket and fixing it made it out of round and then it didnt do much else other than rub. so i only hope that it doesnt go sour on you with the heat involved.
eventually we sent it to the manuf to get it replaced(at our cost).

ya.. it doesn't rub or grind right now, and is still round which would be a good thing.
but i dunno.. i think it would be worth a shot to fix it. If i happen to need another basket then so be it. mine as well try and fix the problem beofre i spend a load of cash, and the wait time on a new recone/basket! just what i was thinking.
