what amp to get?
hey guys im upgrading from a old power acoustic 2ch ( rated at 960rms bridged at 4 ohms)
the amp i need must put max power at 4 ohms (so i think that means 2 ch brigible is best for me)
im leaning towards more sq then spl, and this amp will power a 1 15" sub (proly kicker comp)
as of now i live in US so i will be buying from sonicelectronix, oh and i have 100$ before shipping to spend LMFAO

I'm selling this amp for 175 usd and picking up a brand new kicker comp 15" so that leaves me with a 100 for an amp.
How does PG 500 watts rms at 4 ohms Briged amps stack up agains other amps on the list?

Most would just turn down the gain on the existing amp and keep it.
An amp will only draw as much power as it uses anyway. Given this a 200 Watt amp running at its max will use say 15amps, thus a 1000 watt amp running at 200 watts will also pull 15 amps, minus maybe a few watts for the additional circuitry. But on the same token, a larger amp can run cooler at lower power because it has a larger heat sink that isn't being utilized, so that could help make up for any power losses.
With a careful ear, you could easily keep your existing amp without damaging your sub.
