Just curious...what happens to these demo cars years after they have served their purpose? I'm curious about the lower end cars that tens of thousands have been spent to create them, such as civics, cavaliers and neons etc...I am sure some of these installs must have cost 50k and up. It must pretty hard to sell something like that for 50k or more 5 or 15 years later. Like i said, just curious as I was looking at some old Car Stereo Review and Car Audio and Electronics mags from the late 80's and just started wondering whatever happened to them.

my guess is they get stripped as aftermarket mods add very little to teh value of a car .

sometimes these cars get sold to enthusiasts, often they are cars owned by employees of the company, and sometimes they go into storage. every once in a while you see one come up on ebay for auction

Gee someone offered you 40k for a neon. Crap I would of sold it in a flash regardless what was in it. I have a intrepid and i dont think dodge or chysler products are worth there weight in rocks. Let alone 40k.

I have a certain car audio's Civic at my shop right now, the four yellowtops in the back for the stereo died and fried the 200 amp custom alternator.

It's for sale, they're taking offers. The install is four or five years old now.

91ish Honda Civic. ALL Phoenix Gold, and Pioneer head.

Pioneer in dash DVD.
Pioneer HU, mounted under the dash.
10 sets of PG components, all worked in with fibreglass.
16 10in. PG subs, mounted in two tunnels, 2x2x2x2.
6 PG amplifiers.
Countless pretty fuses & fuse holders & cabling.
3 or 4 crossovers & some line drivers and things, mounted in the roof liner and trunk lid.
etc.

Very nice install, very nice equipment. But my van sounds better, and is louder too, with just my one sub.

I would like to own Kromer Radio's Orange 69 Camaro. They can keep the stereo.

MTX still has almost every demo vehicle they ever had. They are all stored in the motor pool at R&D in WI.
