what car to get?
Just for the record you CAN NOT import a Skyline into Canada unless its over 15 years old. Even importing it from the company in the states wont work. If you try to get it into Canada customs will take your car. Chop it in half and put it in a hole in the ground. No joke. That topic has come up so many times on another forum I'm on and ppl that have the money and knowledge to do it say it is not possible to import one for another couple years. The only way you can get one into Canada is if you move to Japan for a couple years and then bring it back with you as a personal item. Even then you risk loosing alot of money trying to get it registered. The only way you could possibly get a Skyline into Canada is to import it as a show or race car. But then you can NEVER register it for driving on the road.
oh wait that reminds me...
in T.O. there is an imprezza imported from korea or somewhere in asia that is right hand drive and a true JDM version being legally driven in canada.
my roommate last year was a mod on the subaru club and he took pics and sat in it. it does exist.
two weeks ago i got to chill out in a RHD del sol, not a conversion.
it was legally imported into california and shipped to NY state. the guy has it registered in the states and drives it around here. he wanted a jdm CRX settled for a 92-93 RHD dohc v-tec sol with 40-50 kilometers for $7000 usd. for the record you cant get a lhd domestic sol for that kinda money with the dohc.
not that unusual one of my best friends has a eclipse GS-T registered in the states that he has been driving here for several years.
so there are ways around it and people who have found them

bwt, to register the jdm sol all the guy had to do was go to the dmv and register the vin number and walla....
if you have relatives in the U.S. you can drive what ever you want in canada, just use their address to register it.
and skylines as well as various other unavailable imports are being driven in the U.S.
there are no 2 s15's on Fresh Alloy that i know of.

Mmmk, i didn't read absolutely every post in entirety, so i don't completely know what you want outta this car or if you just need a car to get ya around and thats all or what. but personally there's a few things ive thought about.
1. 300zx twin turbo as mentioned above...a neat lil toy thats hella cool, but i've never ridden in one, so i don't completely know how good/nice/comfortable the ride is.
2. type of car buddy at work drives....umm oh yeah a jetta, not completely sure on the model, but a hot lookin car virtually stock, a fairly quick car, and a nice car inside (for the amount of time i've been in it)
3. a low km 89-93 thunderbird supercoupe (or 94/95 if you like those looks), lower it 1.5" or so, do the intake, exhaust, pullies, and maybe upgrade the supercharger inlet plenum if you wanna go all out. A set of nice wheels, maybe some 17" cobra r's or some other personal favorites of mine.
All in all with #3 you'll have a decently fast car...around 14s 1/4mile maybe a bit less...depends on what ya do. Depending on whether you do the wheels n lower it or not, you can have a car that looks sleak, but not silly (like a souped up honda). It'll be roomy, and give you one of hte most comfortable rides you can ask for (may differ slightly if you upgrade the suspsension, depending on what you put on). Not as fast as some cars, but on a 10 hour trip. It's not a problem (and hella fun) to pass n race other cars as need be. and probably one of hte most comfortable cars ever.
But yeah thats just my opinion, let us know what you grab, or refresh my memory if you already said and i missed it.
