What to do with 10 cuft
What to do with 10 cuft
I've had a ported 12 on 1500W for awhile but my amp fried so I'm starting over. I've got a sunfire, the box was in the trunk, the amp on the back of the seat (folded down). I never use the back seat, and I don't have any trunk space. I want a box that can be taken out quickly if I need the back seat. So I was thinking of taking the back seat out for subs and making an amp/battery rack in the trunk, I'll get most of the trunk back atleast. I measured 42 x 24 x 24 for a slide-in box with the rear seat out and that's not going over the rear window line and a couple inches from the front seats for excursion, using 1.5" MDF is almost 10 cubic feet. If I seal off the cabin from the trunk and just throw a huge box in the back, what kind of acoustical stuff do I have to think about? I have no idea what I want to use for a next setup, but it will have 3-5kw. For a nutty daily driver would you use 2 ported 15's, a ported 18, or 2 sealed 18's? I've also got 3 Eclipse SW8200's, so it wouldn't be hard to get a couple more (cheap), 6 or 8 of these would be sweet but I have no idea how I'd fit 8 without going over 42", fiberglass isn't out either, but I want a removable box. The 15's I've been looking at are the new T3 TSS, I guess I'd use a BTL for a single 18, 2 Q 18s for sealed. I just got winisdpro but it's mad confusing. I'd rather use one sub and one amp also for simplicity. I wouldn't want to have 6-8 subs, have __ blow and not be able to notice it. I want to be able to listen to my music as loud as my XXX played without having to have it cranked. Thanks.
