what to do with front stage

hey guys, gone for a while but now my junk blew up and am looking for some new options.

for all those that dont want to read alot, long story short, I have 150wrms for each side, looking for a nice comp set that will last. or find a 6" sub that can be used more as a mid bass then a sub. doors are completly sealed. want to keep it under $200, but...

More details for those that care:

I need new drivers all around for my truck. 05 ext cab duramax. my old setup:

HU: Alpine 7897
Front drivers: Premiere TS-C720PRS 6.75" components
Front Amp: Premiere PRS-D2200T. 150WRMS x2 @ 4ohm
Rear drivers: stock 5x7(?)
Rear amp: HU
Sub: Phonix gold 12"(cant remember modle number) in a ported box sitting on rear seat... lol
sub amp: Premiere PRS-D2200T bridged 600WRMSx1 @ 4ohm

I had the fronts crossed over at 80hz 24db slope on the HU. tweets -3db on the component crossovers. rear was crossed over at 120hz 24db slope on the hu.

doors are completly sealed with brown bead, outer skin 2 layers, inner 2-3 layers... HEAVY lol

I really like the sound of the system, and it was cheap. then I blew the sub up so I removed it. now with no sub I noticed that both mid basses up front were also gone. So now I have a deck and stock rear speakers.

I still have the pioneer comps. I can return them and wait for them to be sent to pioneer and get a new set. but I blew them up pretty quick so I dont really want to go threw this again.

was thinking about keeping the pioneer crossovers and tweets and putting a 6" sub inplace of the mid ranges.

ED was my first choise because thats the only company I could remember that made 6" subs. looked around here quickly and saw the tang bang subs. but rated at only 50 watts... I dont know how long that will last either. then I was thinking maybe just buy a new set of comps, type r's maybe. dont know.

im going to go back to 2 10" subs in a sealed box under the rear seat.

what would you do?

I would sell one of the Pioneer 2 channel amps and put a mono in for the subs or use the amp on the new rear speakers and look at a mono amp for the subs. Pioneer Premiere shallow mounts do a great job and are currently on sale as well. Get your front speaker replaced under warranty and learn how to use your system properly. As in set the gains on the amps properly. A speaker does not blow all on it's own, you have to abuse it. Want something different, there is a deal on the MB Quart PVI216 component speakers right now. Rear speakers should be a 6.75" and there is yup, another deal to be found on them as well.

Do it cheap, expect poor results. Do it wrong, expect poor results. Set it up wrong and use it wrong, expect total failure. Do it right and use it within it's abilities and you will have a great little system.
