Question

Well, tryin to decide on a pair of subs ..... heard good stuff about these Pioneers .... thinking about getting 2 10s in them, but wanted more 'expert' opinions

Here they are :

Please post your opinions on what you think, if youve heard these subs , and what kind of box they'd be best in.

Thanks everyone

Pioneer does make decent subs for the money. You really can't go wrong.

I have not used pioneer subs so I won't be of much help. Try doing a search, I'm sure this has been asked.

Pioneer is good bang for the buck. For their price they have good sound quality, and good volume. Their RMS rating is usually lower than they can actually handle. I'd say go for it I have an old school 12" pioneer (TS W302F) and I love it. Its loud and it hits low.

Oh yeah, your link does not work. It looks like it is an abreviated link with some information missing in the middle. Do you know the sub-model?

Click on my homepage to see what I did with my pioneer.

I haven't heard that particular model, so I can't say for sure. But personally I think its a good buy. As for those who say its crap, I think they base their opinions on things like

looks - its not a flashy sub.
Price - its so reasonable, can it really sound good?
Name - Pioneer isn't "high-end" like Rockford, Apline Etc, so it can't be good.

In my opinion, Looks and Name mean nothing. If it sounds good and is a good price, go for it!

i dont know if it matters, but i drive a lexus IS300, and the trunk is naturally pretty well insulated (so ive heard) ....

anywayys, if i do get 2 10s of those pioneers, does anyone have any suggestions for a cheap but reliable amp ?

When things sound like crap, I usually look towards the install, unless they are using Thump or some very low end brand.

I think the Pioneer's are a very good buy, just as long as you remember that they are only a $100 sub and don't expect the world from them. They are very decent subs, hit nice and low given the right install.
