I was just reading an old post (http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/cgi/...=005587#000000) and someone stated that most music's hardest bass occurs at 50-60 Hz. If this is so then I would assume an optimal place to set one's low pass crossover would be around the 90 Hz range. Therefore, you're not ignoring the high bass notes but still leaving a lot of room for the hard hitting bass at the 50-60 Hz frequencies.

Right?

I don't know where the hardest bass is, i don't think it's that high. I have 2 10" JL W0 in a sealed box 1 cu each and I crossover at 65hz. I have midbass upfront, they really work nicely together.

I set mine to 80, and cut off my highs and mids at 80 so all freq. are reproduced. It seems like selaed boxes are ususally crossed over lower than ported boxes, what's that about?

I set my high-pass filter as low as safely possible (so it drops as low as possible without any bottoming, distortion, or weird noises), then set my low-pass filter about a 1/4 octave below that. (i.e. HPF - 80 Hz, LPF - 70 Hz)
