So what happened to those huge DEI amps that were all the rage last year?

IT was like if you didn't have a DEI 1100D you weren't cool.

In the last year I've barely heard a peep about DEI, do we not like them anymore or just moved on to different stuff?

 

dei2000 was good.nowadays power is cheap to buy.look at the ma4000 or phd-2/phd-3

the viper audio amps are the new dei amps.

 

^ I knew that, but I haven't even really heard much about the Viper amps....and I've yet to see either amp in competition this year.

 

They are powerful but i noticed that in street they become an issue, because they draw so much current. Didn't see many if any in street at finals.

Yea, that's probably it. I'm no SPL guy by any means but I don't think I'd have used Viper or DEI if I was in SPL....You can make more power for cheaper from a better known company.....I think if it was me I'd use Kicker or USAmps.

Same thing kinda happened with those new Rockford amps...they were gonna be the next geatest thing and I've seen ONE in a magazine.
