What are freinds for?

I have a freind with a Blazer who wants help with a new stereo. He saw my setup, so he's looking to me for help with what to buy and install. What are freinds for? I've heard people on here talk about multi-channel amps, but I'm not familiar with any. (I have an amp for each speaker-apparently everybody doesn't do that?)
Anyway, he's hoping one amp will do it, doesn't want anything over the top.
$1,000 budget.
HU, mounting kit, 4 speakers (he thinks they're all 6.5's), 1 sub with box (not too big), one amp for everything, or maybe 2 if price is better, install kit.
I'm assuming price would be better for a package deal?
I've already told him not to run speakers off the head unit and explained the difference between wmax & wrms, etc.
I told him that 75 wrmsx4 & 300 wrms sub would give him what he's looking for. He's in Scarborough.
Are there any package deals like this out there or should we wait and go shopping boxing day? (I hate shopping in the crowds).
Any advice or suggestions appreciated.

Average HU = 200
MultiChannel Amp =350
12" Sub = 200
1 set of 6.5 components = 150
Wires = 100

If he has his mind set on $1000 and buying everything at once then I would suggest that as the break down. Only buy front stage speakers because 2 nice speakers are better than 4 crap speakers. Infinity has a multichannel amp that is like 4x75 and 1 x 300 for like $350. I am sure you already told him this but I would suggest buying a really nice HU and components first then save up some money and spend a little more on the sub and amp.

EDIT: cardomain sells HU's with free dash kits, good stuff.

^^^^ not the best idea if the customer is in Canada though.....you Americans keep forgetting about that.

Is the customer after new or used equipment? I have a great 5 channel used amp here right now. A new 5 channel amp is going to take him outside of the $ that he wants to spend.

Yup, So looking for 5 ch with that much power is way over budget.
How about a 75wx4 ch and a 300w mono block? Rob is set on having back speakers for people in the back seat.
I'm installing and kits are on clearance at princess auto, rca's, wire and blocks are pretty cheap at Sayal.
