what headunit to choose??

Hi guys! I'm new in here and would like to get some advice on w/c headunit to get. I want to replace my Hummer H3 hu with a navigation, dvd with capabilities of a rear camera. also would like to use my existing XM radio subscriptionin my car.

one of the questions I have is if I change hu, and get a new one, will my xm radio still work with the new hu? sorry for the noob question.

my budget is around $500 only and I would like to get the best hu for my budget. I don't mind used hu, so if you could suggest some hu, that would be great!

Thanks!

I tried a few different Eclipse double din decks and liked them.

There are other brands,I am sure people will mention!

500 is prob small for the features u want. used MAYBE.. just my clarion DD deck was 1k and thats still without the backup cam or xm modual or even the gps that i want..

and btw yes ur xm will work after u call them up telling them that u are replacing the unit with a new one and they will ask the rest of the Q's

Most decks with navi will run $700 +
All of them you must add XM (approx $120).

You bought an expensive vehicle, don't cheap out now.

If you don't mind used, eBay. Look for a Pioneer AVIC-F700BT, AVIC-F900BT or any current generation there of. All the features you want. Prices range from $200 - $400 based on condition and bidding expertise. Just make sure all the accessories are included as those can add up if you buy separately.

If you're set on having XM and not sirius, Pioneer is the only way to go. The XM "cartridge & cable" hardly eve r****ing works. Pioneer has a good piece that works every time. Sirius is a different story though. They're usually pretty solid.
