What The Hell!

Man I am kinda pissed off... I bought a new deck for my car (mine was like 8 years old). My old one (Kenwood) skipped over hard bumps (I live out of town on a farm, so holes/bumps/etc. in the road are just an everyday thing!), and when I bought my sub, it skipped if I turned it up too loud (which wasnt too loud) from the bass. So anyway, I bought a new deck, and installed it this morning. Rockford RF9120 I think. I like it, my speakers sound SOOO much better and clearer. BUT, I tested it out down the road and it STILL SKIPS! Especially when its turned up. I am pretty sure it's the mounting unit. The car is an '85 Cavalier... What the hell can I do to fix this? There isn't much room at all in there for anything. The deck has a "hanger" thing that it is mounted on. Hard to explain. It's basically a plastic bracket mounted to the front, top of the deck and then mounted to just under the heater vent.

It pisses me off when it skips. It's mostly certain kinds of bass, or a combo of bumps/holes and bass...

Sorry for the really bland, and un-descriptive post... It's really bugging me.

Sounds like your decks may not be secure enough in the mounting.

Lightbulb

Try adding a backstrap to secure it better. Or add a CD Changer - generally way more forgiving on bumps/bass.

I'd like to stick with a regular CD player if possible... Although, I am thinking investing in one of those might have been a good idea. Ah well, too late. I like my deck anyway.

So, this backstrap, how would I go about doing that? Also, the deck is kind of on a slight slant with back down more than the front because of the length of the deck... Hard to understand without you seeing it. PLUS there is little to no room in there with all the wires, etc.
