From my understanding, they creare the illusion of bass. They reproduce the vibrations.

(Or so I have been told).

 

those are bass shakers. they hoop up to the subs and shake when there is a bass note. ppl put these in soft tops or convertible cars where bass escapes easy, so these things make the vibration. kinda gay if u ask me

 

Those little guys are not gay at all. I've used them with the factory stereos in my Dakota R/Ts and I was very happy with them. They vibrate with frequencies under 100 Hz and really do create the sensation of bass depth even without a sub. You lack the impact in the air but the tactile impact you do get. I bought a pair of the basic ones (those are the fancier ones) off Ebay for $32 and I don't regret it. One of the cars Dukk put them in even had 3 12s and you could tell when the shakers were on and off with the 12s pounding away.

 

I sat in a demo truck that had a really nice front stage and full sound deadening but no subs in it yet as it wasn't finished. Had a set of Aura Bass Shakers in it and it definitely complimented the rest of the system. I could see it working well with subs also.

 

those look great i'd only pay 60$canadian tho..
