what would work best with my rf p3001 amp?

i dont completley understand how amps work the best with subs, say my amp :

(rf p3001)
150 W x 1 @ 4 Ohms RMS
300 W x 1 @ 2 Ohms RMS
300 Watts total power

does this mean my amp can only power a 300 watt sub?

is 300 watts its peak power?

whats an example of a sub setup that would perform the best with this amp?

thanks

Your amps RMS output into a 2 ohm mono load is 300w rms (on paper as a spec). In reality though it will produce more power if given enough input voltage (but don't get hung up on that). The most important choice you can make here on a sub is the proper match of box to the sub you choose. After that the amplifier will easily be able to do the job properly for many different subs. Your choice of sub will depend on your budget and if you are going to go with a basic prefab box (and hope for the best) or with a custom box (and get a highly predictable outcome).
