I do $150 if its someone elses starter, another $40 for keyless, but it can go higher depending on the system...and the bypasses are usually around the $65+ mark as well...
I do the same for our starters though, $199 installed. Ive got about $65 into the units themselves. We dont do a whole lot though, its just a good thing to fill up some time in the book :P
Hey chris, where are your starters coming from?

We get the All-Start 600+ units. We used to get them from Amiel Distributers until last month when Automobility bought Amiel, Now we get them from Robert Thibert and they are actually cheaper. The units are made in Canada and are bullet proof.
What units do you use Mao???

I'm rockin the FCT ones...the Autostart (same as prostart), just because I dont do a whole lot of them and theyre always avalible. I'm having some trouble with one of the modules though, the transponder key one, TBK3 is their model number, DEI's number is 556U I think. DEI one works everytime, Ive had a few of the TBK3s not work, pain in the ***.

Dudes, why oh why would you install someone elses' starter?
Would you take your own patties, lettuce, onions, pickles relish, tomato and cheese to McDonalds and have them make you a burger?
Maybe it is different out east, but with all the hassles and headaches starters can present, why bother installing someone else's unit?
Just my 2 cents

well, i dont go out of my way to do it, but the shop i work at, sometimes the installers arent totally booked up, or someone rebooks or cancels or whatever and hes got some hours to kill, so why not give him something to do?
Also, about 90% of the time theyve bought it at canadian tire or walmart or something, and once they hear what the price difference is for our starter compared to the one they bought, and what the situation is with the warranty, they usually return it and take ours

we start at 188 installed for a basic Nu-Start (compustar) and go up to around 598 for a viper SST combo, bypass's are $100 installed, keyless is 65, and so on and so forth.
we only install autostart/viper/nustart products.
