MA Audio and Mobile Authority are different brands. soem of the MA stuff ive seen is nive but over priced. definitly better stuff out ther for the price

but i recall seeing some SICK stuff my MA, with like 4 voice coils and stupid specs.

but you can buy this stuff at XS cargo and places like that so keeping away would be a good idea.

 

the MA sy7011dx are reasonably priced and are very powerful (1500wrms at 14volts)...I think ebay has em for around $200US

 

A lot of perceived "junk" is usually a result of a crappy install = people installing that don't know the limits of the gear and how to make it work properly. Sure, some stuff can be made to "GO" a lot further, but for the most part, stuff gets a bad rap because of crappy installers with no experience or knowledge of the product. To further that comment, I'd also extend that to DIY-ers who install the equipment and really shouldn't be anywhere near tools and audio gear installations. Then they go around bad mouthing when it was really their fault for being morons in the field of car audio.

It's been proven that good installers can make junk sound like gold.

Dont confuse the TWO

yes they are both made by the same company. They used to only make mobile authority then they came out with MA audio a few yrs ago as their high end product line. Sure there is better out there, but generally their stuff is good for what you pay for. I think they also have some relation with Audiobahn.....not sure what
