I have mixed feelings about MA. They seem to be good, yet over-rated. 17V ratings are rather bunk But they sell cheap as dirt on-line it's disgusting. Maybe I should pick one up to see what they're all about.

MA = mobile authority NOT!
i dont know what crack pipe your smokin but you better share
MA AUDIO was owned by DEI who makes orion, diamond audio, viper, python

DEI only wanted one high end audio manufacturer that came to be Orion, MA audio was sold to the anaba group who makes====

ultra linear < test market junk high low end equipment
mobile authority< test market junk low end junk period
Thump< test market junk < better than mobile authority not as good as ultralinear
visonik not as good as ma audio but better than ultra linear
MA audio high end

To further that comment, I'd also extend that to DIY-ers who install the equipment and really shouldn't be anywhere near tools and audio gear installations. Then they go around bad mouthing when it was really their fault for being morons in the field of car audio.

It's been proven that good installers can make junk sound like gold.

in my many yrs of competition small time the one thing stands fact, a good install of any product on the market will do better than an improperly installed product.
I have seen pyramid woofers(powered by phx gold) knock the hell out of shitty installed jl's.

I'm owned various MA audio amps over the last few years and have yet to have one break down on me. Although they don't put out there rated power I consider them a good bang for your buck. I even have a set of components that don't sound have bad.

IMO your better off getting some used gear off the for sale section here. Lots of good sellers and some even better deals

I remember when MA was first brought in by SCL Distributors. We decided to give it a try. Bad decision!! We got something like 12 amplifiers and I think 10 were DOA. If you're looking for a neat paper weight or boat anchor, have at it, otherwise buy something else.

Rather than re-typing it all again, here's the link to the last MA Audio question thread: http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/onli...-ma-audio.html .

Hope that helps... as you can see, lots of opinions backed up with some practical experiences...some good, some bad.

Ive had one of there higher end amps that I got at XS cargo and its been going strong for alittle more then 2 years now. I have yet to have a single problem with it. HK102SX is the modle number. Ive had it down to .5ohm bridged and it handled it well, never got "hot", warm yes but its and amp, what do you expect. honestly my only complant is that the fan is a little on the loud side. if the amps in the trunk of your car you would never notice but I have an SUV and when it is not running and there is no music playin you can hear the fan.

would I buy the amp again? Probly not. I would buy somthing off the FS section on this site just because you can get some pretty damn good deals some times. If money wasnt an issue: Yes, I would buy this amp again.

Everyone keeps talking about good and bad. Its all in the eye of the beholder. For one person, MA might rock, it might be all the power and quality they're looking for, at a good price. But for someone else demanding Extreme SQ as well as high output, they may say it sucks @$$ and they will only buy Kicker.
So technically everyones opinion is valid and correct. Except for the DOA thing. Thats just a little rediculous. But think about on the assembly line. If one of the machines broke, but no one caught it. It stoped adding one resistor to the power supply. The amps get boxed packaged and are now sitting in a warehouse. Lets say this happened to 10 amps. Now whats the company going to do? hire someone to test all 10,000 units sitting in the warehouse to find them, or ship em out and warranty the poor B@$terd who gets em.

Personally im not a fan of MA. I have an extremely picky taste in audio, and I dont like it. However I have quite a few customers who bought their MA gear at XS cargo, had me install it, and loved it. I guess what im trying to say is that everyones getting mad about someone elses opinion. Opinions are like @$$holes. Everyones got one so get used to it.
