It comes down to what was originally wrong with the amp, how much are they asking, how much did it cost to fix, if who is selling it is reputable, also if they guarantee it or have some sort of warranty for it. if No to the last 2 then No. Also they may lie to you as to telling you what was wrong with it and how much it cost to fix. Myself i wouldnt buy a refurbished amp unless they guaranteed it, just like any other new amp, i think youre chances of it breaking down are twice likely to happen.

It would depend on the price of the item and the remaining warranty.

If the price isn't far off from the a brand new one then I wouldn't even bother.

If it was refurbed by the manufacturer and not just some repair place, and the savings was substantial, I have no problem with refurbs.

I am with FrankB on this, it is a crap shoot sometimes you win sometimes you loose. I have gone the B route and it was always exciting... one way or another

Both my Belle's are re-ferbs (by the factory). Two world championships later, and I've still got working amps and money in the bank. I paid less then half for the amps. They were a little scuffed up, but I refaced them anyway so no worries.

I agree with MuTT. If the referb is from the facory, I'm good with it.

refurbs are usually demos. Demos are the ones the testers put through hell.
A lot of stores sell off their board stock as refurbs. Refurb means they wiped the dust off, and oh, sorry, we lost the box and manual.

A factory refurb should generally come with a manual and the accessories, if they can't provide that then I suggest looking elsewhere....a factory (manufacturer) refurb would normally come in a sealed box (maybe not the POS (point of sale) box).....ebay refurbs scare the crap out of me however.
