The RF 15KW amp can only do around 3kw continuous.... 15kw is a burst rating...
The amp uses a huge amount of capacitance after the bridge in its power supply making it capable of delivering large amounts of current for short periods of time.... IIRC it also has an A/B output stage and the voltage available from the psu is modulated by the input signal essentially making it a class H design with a twist...
It seem to me that its a solid design and really makes alot of sense considering most of us listen to music and arn't necassarilly burping test tones in an SPL contest.... but RFs marketing spin still leaves a bad taste in my mouth....
As far as I am concearned JBL/Crown's monster 'class M' amp is the biggest baddest amplifer there is... 6kw continuous and 10kw burst from a single amplifier at something like 12.8 volts...
