Today i went to a shop to look for a amp. I wanted an amplifier that was one ohm stable cause i have two duel four ohm subs. My current amplifier is only two ohm stable, and for comps i want to run my subs at one ohm. So i tell the guy what i'm looking for. And he tells me "nobody makes a one ohm amplifier i havent seen one in ten years. And why would you want a one ohm amlpifier it sound like **** anyway". So i and leave saying whayever. So whos wrong me for wanting aa one ohm amplifier or him for telling me different.
thanks everyone.
if im right boycot bianco's

You are right :S
Check out www.usamps.com.
They even have new amps that are stable at 0.5ohms!
I just bought an old-school Orion HCCA 225 G4 and it is stable at 0.5 ohms as well . . .

Bryan

You are correct and he is correct. YOu are correct that there are 1 ohm capable and engineered amps all over the market. Turn any corner and one will hit you upside the head. Maybe this dude needs open his eyes a little more.
He is correct IF he is talking about the difference in SQ between some of the 1 ohm amps and a 4 ohm amp running the same speakers at the same output levels. IE: 1 ohm mono at 1000w rms or 4 ohm mono at 1000w rms. The latter in most cases will usually be superior.

Also most of the amps that people are running in SPL comps are not advertised as being one ohm stable even though they are run that way. There is no margin for error running an amp at one ohm, and there would be many more warranty claims if all amps that are capable of one ohm operation were advertised as that.

I've been to Bianco's several times, and they used to have some good guys there. Not sure where that guy fits in..
I know Bianco's used to carry Earthquake - if those little monsters won't do 1Ohm all day, nothing will.
You have several options:
1) go back and talk to someone else - maybe one of the installers.
2) take the 30 second drive up the street to the other two car audio shops in town - Northern Autosound or Moonrocks.
As a side note, as MR2NR was pointing out, you may not necessarily want amp that will run at 1OH, but want an amp that will make more power into the speakers you have. So, you need an amp that will make 1,000W into 1-Ohm or 4-Ohm - for example.

all bianco's carry is alpine and RF. the subs i have a kicker L7's and my amp is a memphis mc1500d so at 4 ohm it only puts out 750 rms. i don't think my memphis is capable of 1 ohm.if you know better let me know.
