I would agree but generally when a manufacturer of, let's say "budget concious", brands buys a higher end one that the higher end one loses credibility.
Two examples would be Lanzar (ok, never HIGH end but used to be credible pre-Pyramid) and HiFonics.

mbq hasnt been a major player in the car audio scope of things for a long time, and i may be wrong here, but i think being bought my maxxsonics and getting sold in future shop isnt going to fix the problem of how the product is perceived regarless of how good it is.

Dukk, that was the old titanium tweeter - the new one has a itty bitty little rubber surround and is ferrofluid damped -it's just fine.
I am going to pick up a new set of Quarts to review for PAS in a few hours - we'll what the new stuff sounds like...

Distribution in Canada is not about to change - we have committed to MB Quart and will continue to stand behind the product. We finally got our shipments from Germany of the new Quart products and a lot of our dealers that have seen the new products are very excited to see what they have come to bat with.
There will be new subwoofer product coming - but you probably wont see anything until CES in January.
The new product looks great - is priced well - and will sound as good or better than before.
Quart was one of the first high end speaker brands - and the new products hold their own.
Any questions - give me a buzz !!

I have made some phone calls and at this time Trends IS the distributor as they want to uphold all of MB Quart's contracts. This is what I have been told now they also told me that what was stated might change and might not.
Correct !! We are the Canadian Distributor of the product - Maxxonics owns the MB Quart name and sells to us.
Just like Rockford sold to Korbon - Korbon was the distributor in Canada - Rockford did no distribute the product.
So unless something changes - we are the distributor in Canada and have all the distribution rights.
As far as the comments on the tweeter - hey, some people love 'em - others hate 'em !!
If you wanted to, you could find something wrong with every speaker brand out there.
Some people find tweeters too bright on some brands, some - not bright enough. Some people find there isn't enough midbass, etc, etc.
There is no perfect speaker out there - for everyone.
If you find one that is - 99% of the population probably cant afford it.
Dukk - dont worry about pissing me off - your comments wont - it is your opinion and your right not to like the Quart tweeters.
Almost every time I've had a complaint about any system, it was because the installer/shop never took the time to set things up properly.
i.e. Never adjusted the gains, set the crossover properly, adjusted the tweeter level, etc, etc. There is a tweeter attenuation setting on the crossovers for a reason.
Once the so called problems had been adjusted - the system sounded good.
I've sold plenty of systems with Quart speakers from the Discus level - all the way up to the Q-Series !
And I can honestly say that - after they were set up and installed properly, I didn't find them too bright at all.
For the dollar - Quart is good value - are they for everyone - No !!
But neither is Audison / Focal / Alpine, etc, etc.
Its another option for the consumer - and allows the store the opportunity to sell a better quality / profitable speaker than the other brand down the street. Thats all !!
We continue to believe in the Quart brand as a viable option for Trends. And will stand behind the product - as with all our other brands !!
