Why do I have two 15" subwoofers?

When I put my first subwoofer in my vehicle I started listening to rap and loved how loud it was. Now that I am used to having subs I have been listening to more techno/disco like I used to listen to. But, the sq is so crappy that I can't even stand it. I constantly hear kids in school saying, ooo, my car gets so loud with this song and I just want to slap them in the face. I am pretty sure this means that I have turned over to the sq side, I found myself turning my bass to the most negative as possible.

Why do my subwoofers seem to hit late on all songs? WHY DOES MY CAR SOUND LIKE CRAP! I listen to a new techno song on the computer and it sounds insane but as soon as I pop it into my car I want to puke. Yes, my vehicle gets really really loud but I have no use for this loudness.

Any random thoughts or input would be great.

do you have a pic of your box ?
what do you have for time alinemint ?

What kind of bandwidth are you amplifying? (ie. what are your low-pass and subsonic filter settings) Also I am no expert on the subject, but what I have come to learn from reading this and other forums, is that Kicker is not exactly synonymous with sound quality at least with subwoofers.

kicker sucks ****

Id try to get a sub capable of smooth reponse.... that will work for you and your application.... then work on front stage....

What do you have the x-over set at? and what slope? Is it a ported or sealed enclosure? (if ported... whats the the tuning freq?)

Here is a pic of the subs. The only thing different now is that there is no amp mount on the top and the amp is mounted to the back of the seat.

Time Aligning?

Amplifying Bandwidth? Lol

Low pass is at about 120 on amp

I don't think my subs are wired out of phase but it will never hurt to check. I will do that and let ya guys know.

I can't change the slope or crossover on the HU like I could with my old unit. It is at I think, 100hz.

have you thought about droping down to 12's or 10's where you can get a bit more control

If your box, as your sig states, is indeed 10cu.ft sealed you may wish to try them in a smaller enclosure for more accurate response. 5 cubes per 15" may work great for output but at the cost of accuracy. Try taking the subs out of the enclosure and then putting a bunch of books or similar in there to take away some of the airspace and then see how you like the sound. Try around 3.0net per and see if you like the change and then play with the space some more to fine tune.
The Kicker CompVR is a capable driver as anyone with some knowledge is aware.
